Job Title: Registered Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse Specialist will provide professional-level clinical and behavioral assessments to reinforce appropriate behaviors and increase social skills. The incumbent will review and analyze maladaptive behaviors, special programs, and the token economy system. They will design, write, and monitor individual behavior programs for residents with behavioral problems who do not respond positively to the token economy system.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional-level clinical and behavioral assessments
  • Review and analyze maladaptive behaviors, special programs, and the token economy system
  • Design, write, and monitor individual behavior programs
  • Administer adaptive behavior scales and conduct behavioral observations
  • Enter behavioral data in Excel worksheets
  • Serve as a member of the DDDP Behavior Analysis Local Review Committee, Support Planning Committee, and treatment team
  • Perform functional behavioral assessments for residents requiring special behavioral intervention program
  • Write reports on the progress of residents
  • Provide data and formal analysis for the monthly Local Review Committee
  • Maintain MANDT certification as required
  • Maintain timesheet, ensuring accuracy and submit timely in accordance with policy and procedure

Requirements:

  • Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Three years of professional nursing experience or Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and two years of documented employment
  • Knowledge of the theories and principles of behavior analysis
  • Knowledge of behavioral functional assessment
  • Knowledgeable in the use of MS Excel and MS Word
  • Ability to collect behavioral data
  • Ability to prepare behavioral reports and progress notes
  • Ability to analyze and interpret behavioral data
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

Working Conditions:

This position is located at a 24-hour facility. Staff members must be agreeable to working a shift schedule; regular, evening, or night. Days Off: Varies.
