Nurse Residency Program Overview

Catholic Health Initiatives is committed to supporting the transition of new graduate nurses into professional practice. Our Nurse Residency Program is a comprehensive 12-month program designed to provide ongoing professional and educational support to our graduate nurses.

Program Structure

The Nurse Residency Program is a competency-based curriculum that provides in-depth experiences, education, and support during the nurse resident's first year. Our program accelerates nursing competency by providing trained preceptors, active mentorship, and a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver excellence in patient care through assessing, formulating nursing diagnoses, and establishing goals, planning and implementing interventions, and evaluating patient care outcomes
  • Work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment
Qualifications
  • Graduate nurses from an accredited school of nursing with a minimum 3.0 grade point average and less than 12 months of professional nursing experience
  • Minimum nursing degree requirements vary by location, but typically include a Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) or an Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a preference for a BSN
  • Successfully passed the NCLEX and hold an unencumbered license from the relevant state board of nursing
