Position Overview

This is a full-time remote role within the United States.

We are looking for a Lead Automation Solutions Architect to join our newly established enterprise automation office, known as the Automation Hub. This role will focus on evaluating, prioritizing, and architecting solutions for automation initiatives.

The Lead Automation Solutions Architect will be responsible for defining automation strategies, collaborating closely with the Automation Hub and other automation teams to identify opportunities, recommend tools and technologies, and assist in the design and architecture of automated solutions.

In this role, you will lead the design and architecture of automated solutions for various business processes at Mayo Clinic.

Utilizing your expertise in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technologies, low-code/no-code platforms, and scripting languages, you will help create efficient, scalable, and reliable automated workflows.

You will work in partnership with business stakeholders and IT teams to understand requirements, challenges, and opportunities for automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical analysis and document business processes, identifying current and future states and automation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with IT Service Owners and automation experts to define the architecture, design, and standards for automation solutions using RPA technologies, low-code/no-code platforms, and scripting languages.
  • Ensure integration of automation solutions with other systems and applications through APIs, web services, and databases.
  • Document automation architecture and processes using various methodologies.
  • Research and assess emerging automation trends and technologies for potential application at Mayo Clinic.
  • Provide insights for improvement and innovation based on new automation technology capabilities and overall feasibility.

Take on a leadership role to guide and coordinate the work of other team members, assigning tasks based on workload, skill sets, and the critical nature of tasks.

Act as a consultant or mentor in specialized technical areas to staff across the Department of Information Technology (IT).

Participate in technical planning and serve as an active member or facilitator of technical workgroups to advance project objectives.

Lead committees to establish technical standards and promote data integration and project coordination across work units.

Ensure timely completion of tasks and projects, demonstrating a commitment to meeting deadlines and priorities.

Provide leadership in the technical design, system architecture, and application of information systems resources to meet system requirements.

Engage in major technical decisions, develop proposals considering alternatives and business cases, and gain necessary approvals while effectively collaborating across departmental organizations.

Recognized as a technical expert beyond your division, sought after for your extensive knowledge and application of current technologies within Mayo's environment.

Facilitate technical reviews to ensure appropriate architecture and design, applying enterprise architecture concepts to ensure alignment within Mayo's Information Technology environment.

Work independently on projects, escalating issues as necessary, and consistently deliver results that meet objectives.

May require providing on-call support as needed.

Engage with colleagues across various Mayo Group practices to fulfill job responsibilities through virtual collaboration.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, including 5 years of technical experience and 3 years of leadership experience, or an Associate's degree with 10 years of experience, including 5 years of technical experience and 3 years of leadership experience.

Demonstrated project management skills, initiative, and self-motivation to complete tasks on time. Proven expertise in multiple technologies and the ability to solve complex technical problems. Experience in healthcare technology is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation design and architecture using RPA tools, low-code/no-code platforms, and scripting languages.
  • Strong understanding of business process automation, RPA technologies, and scripting technologies.
  • Experience with UiPath, Microsoft PowerAutomate, and other RPA technologies.
  • Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, Google AppSheet, and Airtable is highly desirable.
  • Experience in designing automation solutions for the healthcare sector is advantageous.
  • Experience in integrating automation solutions with various systems using APIs, web services, and databases.
  • Proficient in documenting and maintaining automation architecture and design.
  • Experience in mentoring automation developers and engineers on best practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Certifications in RPA tools or low-code/no-code platforms are beneficial.
Compensation:

$128,186,264.00 per year
