Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Surgical Specialists of Clear Lake. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide clinical support to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of time
  • Verify patient insurance and demographics, collecting co-payments and personal balances as necessary
  • Perform administrative duties, including answering phones and entering charges
  • Assist nursing staff with patient care, including taking vital signs and preparing exam rooms
  • Collect patient specimens and prepare supplies for treatments
  • Participate in data collection and health outcomes reporting for Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives
Requirements
  • One year of Medical Assisting experience in a healthcare setting
  • Medical Assistant Certification (RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or NCRMA) or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
