Education and Experience Requirements
A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience or two (2) years of accredited education in aviation electronics is required. Proficiency in reading and interpreting basic blueprints and schematic diagrams is essential. Position Objective: To assist in diagnosing and rectifying system discrepancies to minimize schedule disruptions. Demonstrates technical proficiency by implementing process improvements to reduce costs while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exhibits fundamental technical abilities in avionics and aircraft systems testing and troubleshooting.
- Under guidance, executes the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems according to engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals, ensuring a defect-free outcome.
- Aids in ensuring the quality and efficiency of all installations. Troubleshoots processes to deliver timely and quality repairs of malfunctioning systems.
- Acquires and demonstrates the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively repair or replace defective components and wiring, ensuring installations meet conformity standards. Utilizes effective repair techniques including splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring.
- Carries out and adheres to engineering changes and modifications as required.
- Assists in the setup and operation of necessary testing equipment; conducts functional and operational tests to assess performance and reliability.
- Under supervision, ensures that all work performed on the aircraft is thoroughly documented and prepared for inspection.
- Tests and maintains testing equipment, electronic systems, and components.
- Adheres to the company’s FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations.
- In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may involve flight tests on aircraft as required.
