The Senior Engineer - Mechanical is responsible for the design and development of functional, reliable, and cost-efficient components for heavy-duty vehicles. This role involves conducting engineering analysis, design, and re-design of components for both existing and new vehicle models. The engineer will also provide support for integration and execution of vehicle and component designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct engineering calculations and investigations adhering to industry standards.
- Assist senior engineers in the preparation of plans, design computations, and reporting.
- Oversee multiple projects of moderate complexity.
- Collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor entry-level engineers on various projects.
- Ensure that technical challenges are resolved in accordance with company policies.
- Assess designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
- Create layouts, drawings, specifications, and material lists.
- Provide technical support for production and resolve issues as they arise.
- Draft technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Analyze system performance and enhance designs for optimization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment.
- Familiarity with advanced CAD systems.
