Job Title: Early Childhood Education Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Education Specialist to join our team at HumanKind. As an EHS Supervising Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality early education and child development services to children from birth to age three.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Classroom Management: Provide direct supervision for eight children per classroom, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment that promotes healthy development and learning.

2. Curriculum Development: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate research-based early childhood curricula (HighScope) to support each child's individual development and learning.

3. Assessment and Evaluation: Ensure standardized screening tools (ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE2) and structured assessments (DRDP) for each child are completed in a timely manner to evaluate the child's developmental level and progress in outcomes aligned to goals.

4. Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team to ensure children with disabilities receive all program services in the least restrictive environment. Collaborate with Teachers and Assistant Teachers, Center Manager, Education Manager, Family Engagement Specialist, and Health and Disabilities Manager to ensure that services provided are developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate and support each child's individual preschool readiness.

5. Leadership and Professional Development: Provide leadership when Center Manager is temporarily out of the building, and participate in individualized and ongoing professional development and coaching.

Requirements:

1. Education and Experience: A minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) or comparable credential with a focus on infant and toddler development. A Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field is preferred. Sufficient training, coursework, experience, and competency to be an infant and toddler Teacher.

2. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills in early childhood care and education. Ability to operate in an organized, detail-oriented manner while maintaining flexibility. Ability to lead colleagues by example while working side-by-side and in partnership with colleagues.

3. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and colleagues.

4. Cultural Competence: Ability to work with children and families from diverse cultural backgrounds, and to provide services that are culturally and linguistically responsive.

5. Physical and Emotional Demands: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
