We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC/Plumbing Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair of HVAC and plumbing equipment on a large University Campus. This role involves planning, assigning, and inspecting the work of technicians, maintenance mechanics, and plumbers, as well as formulating and developing unit goals and objectives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Expertise: Journeyman HVAC license, shop supervisor experience, and facilities maintenance knowledge.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to work efficiently with building automation systems, anticipate and procure supplies, and demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to make decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion, and termination of employees, as well as review plans for future buildings and ensure compatibility with existing HVAC and plumbing codes and maintenance standards.
  • Administrative Tasks: Preparation of labor and material estimates, evaluation and training of subordinate personnel, preparation and maintenance of records and reports, and coordination of HVAC/plumbing outages.
  • Continuous Improvement: Researching new operational methods, techniques, and equipment, managing moderately complex HVAC and plumbing installations and repairs performed by outside contractors, and assisting in capital planning to forecast long-term HVAC system upgrades and/or replacements.
  • Compliance and Safety: Interpreting university and department policies, enforcing safety regulations, and maintaining a safe work environment for direct reports.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting technical problems within HVAC and control systems, and assisting with maintaining campus steam and chilled water metering systems.

Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in HVAC/plumbing maintenance and supervision.
  • Skills: Journeyman HVAC license, shop supervisor experience, and facilities maintenance knowledge.
