Job Summary

Powell Houston-Canton is seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance and repair manufacturing and fabrication equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, as well as experience with CNC Laser Cutting and CNC Turret Punch Press equipment, Robotic Welding equipment, Automated Material Handling equipment, and Automated Powder Coat Painting equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reading and interpreting assembly drawings, schematics, and equipment layouts to identify maintenance needs.
  • Maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical circuits, control devices, hydraulic equipment, and pneumatic systems.
  • Assisting crew members and working in a team environment to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  • Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Performing routine and preventative maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of equipment.
  • Using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track and record maintenance activities and work orders.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma; associate degree in electrical technology preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in an industrial maintenance role.
  • Strong mathematical ability and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics and troubleshoot and repair low voltage (12 v DC) – high voltage (480 v AC 3 Phase) electrical systems.
  • Ability to work long hours and weekends, and to operate hand and power tools, industrial machines, digital cameras, phones, scanners, tools, and controls in a safe manner.
Working Conditions
  • Safety-sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and respirators when required.
  • Must be able to work from all types of ladders and maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color perception, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, hand-eye coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PLC troubleshooting skills and experience with programmable logic controllers.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of construction equipment maintenance and heavy equipment repair.
  • Ability to create preventive maintenance plans and troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Salary Information

$22 - $30 / hr
