Position Overview

This role involves providing essential nursing care and support to residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities at a state-run facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer routine medications and treatments in line with established protocols and policies.
  • Monitor the health status of residents, documenting observations and communicating findings to the healthcare team.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for both residents and staff.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation to protect the well-being of all individuals.
  • Review and manage healthcare records, including medication administration and evaluations.
  • Participate in various activities and on-call rotations as directed by supervisory staff.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from $52,000 to $57,396, commensurate with verified nursing experience. Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus distributed over the first year of employment, along with potential shift differentials.

The South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs provides a robust benefits package, including:

Qualifications
Applicants must have completed a registered nursing education program and hold a valid Licensed Practical Nurse license in South Carolina. Preferred qualifications include:

  • Physical capability to assist residents as needed.

Additional Information
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required pre-employment screenings, including medical and background checks. Immunization documentation may be required for healthcare providers working directly with consumers.
