We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and safety in our diagnostic imaging department.
Key Responsibilities- Follows all Quality Control policies and procedures for compliance with departmental, local, state and federal regulations.
- Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations, hospital policy, and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
- Greets patients politely and efficiently.
- Takes thorough and accurate patient medical histories.
- Clearly explains procedures to patients in English and observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
- Seeks out interpreter services if needed.
- Sets up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning.
- Graduate of an accredited radiological technology program.
- Registered by the ARRT or registry eligible. License from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Health: Radiation Control Program must be received within a year of employment. Must maintain licensure on an annual basis.
- CPR certification.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Thoroughly knowledgeable in anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection and basic patient care.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English with patients to explain procedures while making them as comfortable as possible.
- Ability to follow and comply with procedures, policies and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively and collaborate with medical staff, personnel, students, and patients.
- Ability to read, write and speak clearly in English.
- Prior experience as a Radiological Technologist.
