As a Breast Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that eligible patients receive annual screening mammograms, with a focus on quality care and exceptional patient experience.
Responsibilities- Specialize in the production of high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms for breast cancer detection and diagnosis.
- Collaborate with practice staff to ensure all age-appropriate patients have access to annual screening mammograms, particularly during the first 18 months of a new practice.
- Prepare patients for the mammographic procedure, explaining the process to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
- Maintain radiation protection techniques using beam restrictive devices and patient shielding skills.
- Examine digital images for image quality, ensuring equipment is in proper working order at all times.
- Perform QA testing to comply with MQSA, ACR, and state regulations.
- 2+ years of experience in mammography, preferably with ARRT certification.
- Strong patient-centered approach, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, with flexibility and multitasking capabilities.
- A valid state license (if applicable) and up-to-date CME credits are required.
