Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Sonographer Specialist to join our team at Wellstar Health System, Inc.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional Cardiac Sonographer with experience in performing cardiac imaging procedures. As a Cardiac Sonographer Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic services to patients, utilizing advanced technology and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care:
    • Verify proper clinician order for procedure.
    • Obtain complete clinical history, gather examination data, and assess for contraindicating conditions.
    • Follow established procedures for the administration of Ultrasound Enhancing Agents (UEAs).
    • Ensure that all studies have proper patient identification.
    • Review ultrasound images for clinically acceptable results and release patients.
  • Education and Communication:
    • Patiently and clearly explain purpose and nature of exam to patient prior to starting procedure.
    • Ensure that patient's questions, concerns, or contraindications are satisfactorily addressed.
    • Participate in the orientation and training of departmental employees.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure that equipment is fully operational prior to each use.
    • Send all studies to PACS immediately after completion.
  • Operations:
    • Restock linens and supplies, and maintain the department in clean and orderly condition.
    • Transport patients, position patients, and help them on and off procedure table.
Requirements:
  • Education:
    • High School Diploma General or GED General.
    • Trade School Diploma/Degree Diagnostic Medical Sonography-Preferred.
  • Certifications:
    • Registered Medical Sonographer or Reg Cardiac Sonographer - CCI or Reg Diag Cardiac Sonographer.
    • Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year experience in echocardiography Preferred.
    • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program Preferred.
Salary:

$65,000 - $90,000 per year.
