Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. This compensation package includes a comprehensive benefits program, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a retirement plan and paid time off.

Job Description

We are seeking a Product Development Lead to join our team of experienced engineers and designers. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of new products and projects from conception to completion. Your expertise in mechanical design, CAD software, and project management will be essential in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing comprehensive design packages that include both original designs and adaptations of existing standards
  • Utilizing 2D and 3D CAD software to produce detailed shop drawings and installation instructions
  • Providing training and troubleshooting support for technical issues, both in-house and on-site with customers
  • Ensuring all engineered products conform to UL, state, and national code requirements
  • Crafting detailed work instructions and troubleshooting documentation to support production processes
  • Guiding a talented team of engineers, CAD technicians, and engineering interns to produce efficient and cost-effective designs

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Sciences
  • 8 to 15 years of experience in mechanical design, with proficiency in classical and numerical methods for solving engineering challenges
  • Expertise in mechanical drawing, design, geometric tolerancing, and familiarity with CAD and Inventor
  • Experience with FEA stress analysis, particularly in evaluating fatigue, shock, vibration, and wind load
  • Knowledge of general manufacturing methods and processes, including thermoformed plastics, aluminum, and steel fabrication
  • Knowledge of structural steel and aluminum welding, along with sheet metal bending experience
