The successful candidate will have strong relationships with senior/market-leading brokers and/or key agents, and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Construction brokers/agents & clients. The role also involves providing input into the business and marketing planning process, and participating in projects across departments designed to drive underwriting and process excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of Construction brokers/agents & clients, leveraging market presence and expertise to develop and underwrite profitable business.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior/market-leading brokers and/or key agents.
- Provide input into the business and marketing planning process, including advanced data-driven insights from portfolio analysis.
- Participate in projects across departments designed to drive underwriting and process excellence.
- Degree in Business or equivalent typically required.
- A minimum of 7 years expected, typically 10 years or more, of progressive underwriting experience and/or other related business experience.
- CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
- Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within scope of responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analyses and information in understandable written and/or oral directives to other persons in the organization for underwriting or training purposes.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
