Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, inspect, and maintain generators and associated electrical systems in various commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in the generator, including wiring, controls, and circuit components.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and battery checks to ensure optimal generator performance.
  • Test and calibrate generator systems to meet safety and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and contractors on generator-related projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, documenting all service activities and parts used.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs for generator breakdowns or malfunctions, providing timely and effective solutions.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical training or certification in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Must have experience working on 22KW to 150KW commercial and industrial, liquid-cooled generators.
  • Experience working on diesel engines is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment commonly used in generator maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
Work Environment

The schedule for this role is primarily Monday to Friday, day-time hours. Later hours and weekends may be required depending on our workload and the needs/schedules of our customers/clients.

This position requires consistent heavy lifting of up to 75 pounds, in addition to possibly climbing onto roofs and/or tall buildings as well as attics and crawl spaces. Additionally, you may be required to dig/trench outside in inclement weather as needed for projects. All safety measures will be taken and proper PPE (personal protective equipment) will be used in accordance with OSHA standards.
