The Nursing Operations Administrator position is a critical role within Nexus Health Systems, requiring strong leadership and operational skills. This administrator will oversee various aspects of hospital operations, ensuring seamless patient care delivery and efficient resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams effectively, assigning personnel and assessing assignments to ensure optimal patient care outcomes.
  • Communicate regularly with staff, physicians, and other stakeholders to maintain effective interprofessional collaboration and resolve issues promptly.
  • Coach, mentor, and guide staff on policy adherence, disciplinary measures, and employee development.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve employee engagement, retention, and turnover rates within the organization.
  • Coordinate admission/discharge, transfer, and bed control processes to optimize patient flow and minimize delays.
  • Manage administrative tasks, informing and documenting pertinent information to Administrator On Call (AOC), directors, and managers as required.
  • Troubleshoot problems related to patient/family care, visitors, and facility issues, driving service standards and activities to enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Monitor and analyze work methods and staff scheduling, implementing adjustments to ensure high-quality service and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain awareness and responsiveness to emergency codes and disaster preparedness, coordinating responses when critical situations arise.
  • Participate in process improvements within the department and across the organization.
  • Attend daily Flash meetings to facilitate patient progression, manage bed closures and staffing allocations/cancellations to optimize efficiencies and reduce overtime.
  • Implement strategies to achieve financial targets and staffing needs, mentoring others to do the same through timely documentation of care, optimizing efficiency, minimizing incidental overtime, and other areas.
  • Serve as a mentor/role model and participate in hospital quality, service, and shared governance councils, making recommendations for improvements within and across departments/units, committees, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support change initiatives and adapt to unexpected changes.
