Job Title: Student Baker

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Baker to join our team at the University of Wyoming. As a Student Baker, you will be responsible for preparing a large volume of bakery goods for our food service.

Job Purpose:

The primary purpose of this role is to participate in the preparation of bakery goods, ensuring high-quality products are delivered to our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Bake food in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner, presenting yourself with a neat and clean appearance.
• Carry and distribute baking supplies, such as flour, shortening, sugar, and baking powder.
• Perform proper and safe operation of bakery equipment and utensils, cleaning work areas and equipment/machines according to prescribed procedures and schedules.
• Assist bakers with cleaning kitchen and dishes, food portioning, baking, and final display of baked goods.

Supplemental Functions:

• Assist with determining ingredient quantities necessary to fill specific food service orders.
• Prepare baked goods for delivery by arranging products in proper containers, counting and loading goods onto caddies for delivery.
• Assist in the preparation of made-to-order items, including special frosting, icing, and decoration of bakery goods.

Remote Work Eligibility:

This position requires the successful candidate to be available to work on campus, providing vital support to our campus customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• GED or working towards one
• Ability to handle long periods of time on feet and lift, twist, and carry 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
