Job Overview

As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and aesthetic appeal of various locations. This position is essential for a non-profit organization dedicated to combating poverty in the Lincoln area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive competitive compensation starting at $20 per hour, commensurate with experience.
  • Work on-site within the Lincoln vicinity.
  • Adhere to a first shift schedule, operating from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Your Role:
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and execute major, minor, and routine maintenance tasks promptly for local facilities.
  • Assist in the daily upkeep of facilities, equipment, grounds, and vehicles.
  • Perform minor repairs and installations of office equipment, including keyboard trays, chairs, cubicles, desks, and wall decor.
  • Address minor plumbing issues, such as faucet and toilet repairs.
  • Replace ceiling tiles and help identify sources of leaks or moisture.
  • Support IT with the installation, repair, and replacement of hardware and wiring.
  • Manage work orders from various locations and inform the Facilities Administrator when contractor assistance is necessary.
  • Replace filters and conduct routine maintenance on water filters, softeners, heaters, and ice machines.
  • Monitor and assist with the maintenance of landscaping, including grass and flower beds.
  • Execute planting and removal of plants as requested.
  • Apply weed control measures in concrete and flower beds.
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of general maintenance experience, with knowledge in appliance repair, light carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • A valid Nebraska Driver's License and a clean driving record.
