As a key member of our Architecture & Planning Unit, you will be responsible for guiding the planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, and activation of various airport capital improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a multi-disciplined team of planners, architects, engineers, and other professionals to guide the planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, and activation of various airport capital improvement projects
- Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to develop a business case for potential capital projects
- Develop and present preliminary design alternatives and comparative analysis to address requests and/or concerns from LAWA leadership and/or project stakeholders throughout the planning & design process
- Review planning & design submittals for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to the applicable project requirements, and provide meaningful & constructive feedback to the planning & design team
- Solicit feedback from internal and external project stakeholders, and guide design teams through competing interests and project constraints to ensure the best possible outcomes with respect to quality, cost, schedule, sustainability, resiliency, innovation, user-experience, constructability, operational flexibility, maintainability, etc.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, and/or related field
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience
- Licensed Architect (preferably by CA Board of Architects)
- Optional certifications such as AAAE, CASp, LEED, PMP, etc. are desirable
- Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerBI, etc.)
- Familiar with planning & design software (AutoDesk, Sketchup, etc.)
