POSITION SUMMARY

The primary role of the Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) is to deliver family-centered, individual and/or group rehabilitative mental health services. This includes skills training, medication education, parenting skills development, and comprehensive case management services in accordance with state regulations and standards.

SUPERVISORY STRUCTURE:

  • Reports directly to the Regional Director

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate curriculum-based rehabilitative services for families, individuals, and groups.
  • Maintain comprehensive case documentation (notes, treatment plans, and assessments) following CFGC standards.
  • Provide necessary services to clients scheduled for consultations with prescribers.
  • Achieve monthly performance benchmarks set by management.
  • Ensure all clinical documentation is accurate and legally compliant.
  • Present all assigned cases for supervisory review.
  • Engage in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain required professional certifications and licensure.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain current auto liability insurance.
  • Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Promote community awareness of the services provided by the agency.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong therapeutic skills, along with effective oral and written communication abilities.
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of independent work with sound judgment.
  • Ability to engage with diverse populations across various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field as defined by the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) for Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP-CS).
  • Experience working with individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness and Children with Severe Emotional Disturbances.
  • Preferred training in child and/or adult counseling and family dynamics.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Job responsibilities may require bending, sitting, lifting, and driving.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Other responsibilities may be assigned and updated by the supervisor as necessary.
