Qualifications, Licenses, and Certifications for a Registered Respiratory Therapist:
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related discipline.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the state of Maine.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are mandatory.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Key Responsibilities for a Registered Respiratory Therapist:
  • Evaluate, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, pneumonia, and respiratory failure.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments such as pulmonary function tests (PFTs), arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, and sleep studies.
  • Administer various respiratory therapies and treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation.
