Job DescriptionThe Division of Pediatric Nephrology at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is a thriving department with a strong reputation for providing exceptional care to patients. As a Pediatric Nephrologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to children and adolescents in the respective clinical area.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care within the respective clinical area which complies with the Professional Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations and Children's policies and procedures.
- Participate in and incorporate Quality Improvement and research findings into practice.
- Provides and/or serves as a resource for patient/family and staff education.
- Educate and assist trainees with medical decision making.
- Provides an authenticated report of all physician services rendered and maintains accurate and complete records in an acceptable manner.
We are a very active clinically department, averaging 25-30 pediatric kidney transplants per year and following more than 200 kidney transplant recipients. We follow 40-50 chronic pediatric dialysis patients and have dedicated clinics for kidney transplantation, peritoneal dialysis, hypertension, transition of kidney transplant patients, lupus, and chronic kidney disease.
Ambition and OpportunitiesOur division has over 40 IRB-approved protocols and five full-time research coordinators; it is one of the most active pediatric nephrology clinical research programs in the United States. There is also institutional support for informatics, quality improvement, and educational scholarship.
