Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at Exceptional Hospital in Prescott, AZ. As a key member of our Pharmacy Department, you will be responsible for providing clinical and operational services in an inpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and clarify written orders for medications, ensuring accurate and timely dispensing.
  • Prepare compounds, labels, and packages medications and pharmaceuticals, adhering to professional protocols and standards.
  • Secure storage of narcotics and other controlled substances, maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Restock or load medications in Omnicell stations, ensuring efficient inventory management.
  • Capture charges for dispensed medication orders in the hospital's billing system, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Provide medications and drug information during emergency codes, supporting the healthcare team.
  • Communicate drug-related side effects, dosages, and potential complications to healthcare professionals.
  • Advise patients and/or representatives on medication use, including dosage, side effects, and composition.
  • Promote effective use of the formulary system, suggesting therapeutic alternatives for non-formulary orders.
  • Monitor drug therapy, suggesting alternative therapy when appropriate, and consult with medical staff on drug utilization.
  • Attend codes to assist clinical staff with medication dosing and preparation.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an AACP-accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Free Standing ED or Micro Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Current Arizona Pharmacist license upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
