Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and clarify written orders for medications, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and package medications, adhering to professional protocols and standards.
  • Secure storage of narcotics and controlled substances, maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Restock medications in Omnicell stations, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Capture charges for dispensed medication orders in our billing system.
  • Provide medication information and guidance to patients and healthcare professionals during emergency codes.
  • Communicate drug-related side effects, dosages, and potential complications to healthcare teams.
  • Advise patients on medication use, including dosage, side effects, and composition.
  • Promote effective use of our formulary system, suggesting therapeutic alternatives when necessary.
  • Monitor drug therapy, suggesting alternative treatments when appropriate.
  • Consult with medical staff on drug utilization and pharmaceuticals.
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an AACP-accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Free Standing ED or Micro Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Current Arizona Pharmacist license upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of drugs, possible side effects, and interactions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and technical procedures.
