Trailer Quality Assurance Inspector

Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality of our trailers meets both company standards and customer expectations by inspecting our products at any stage in the production process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review work orders against finished trailers to ensure trailers have been built to all specifications.
  • Inspect trailers for any physical, mechanical, and visual defects, using a tape measure and other hand tools as needed.
  • Ensure that all warning decals, logo decals, and VIN tags for trailers have been properly placed in correct areas on all trailers.
  • Ensure that tire information has been included on all trailers.
  • Ensure that all departments prior to final inspection have inspected their own work and signed off on all applicable items.
  • Approve or reject trailer quality as needed so trailers can either be confirmed or repaired.
  • Complete minor repairs, as needed and able, and follow up with applicable line leads if larger repairs are needed.
  • Participate in warranty or quality discussions, as needed, to troubleshoot any applicable quality issues.
  • Assist in other areas and perform other duties, as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred or other equivalent and relevant demonstrated skills and experience.
  • Ability to be energetic and focused while working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Must be able to read work orders and thoroughly complete paperwork/documents.
  • Overtime may be required as needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to climb up and down ladders and scaffolding on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to use various hand tools, drills, caulk guns, chemicals, and other equipment, as needed.
  • Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
  • Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds is required in this position.
  • Occasional exposure to dust and chemicals.
  • Must be able to be on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE for the position, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, and steel-toe footwear.
