Position Overview:
The Surgical Technologist II is responsible for establishing a sterile environment and preparing necessary supplies for surgical procedures, utilizing expertise in instruments and equipment.
This role involves assisting surgeons by passing instruments during operations and adhering to established counting protocols throughout surgical cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource and mentor for junior Surgical Technologists.
- Participate in on-call duties for both routine and complex surgical cases following the completion of the orientation phase.
- Engage in learning and executing assigned tasks during the transitional duty period.
Incentives:

Licensure and Certification Requirements:
- Must be registered with the State Board of Medicine and possess certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credentials.
Ongoing Certification Requirements:
- Maintain registration with the Virginia State Board of Medicine and current certifications in BLS and CST or equivalent.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months in a Surgical Technologist role or similar position is required.
- Preferred candidates will have at least 2 years of experience in surgical technology.
Educational Background:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory, along with graduation from a Surgical Technology Program or a military training program, or a Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
- Graduates from accredited Surgical Technology Programs are preferred.

Work Schedule:
- Various shift options available including 3x12, 4x10, 5x8, and 8-hour shifts, with flexibility for day, evening, and night shifts as well as weekends as needed.

Work Location:
This position requires in-person attendance.
