About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up sterile fields and gather supplies for surgical cases
  • Pass instruments to surgeons during surgery
  • Perform count procedures per policy during surgical cases
  • Serve as a resource and preceptor to less experienced Surgical Technologists
  • Take call for routine and high acuity cases after orientation period
Requirements
  • Registered by the State Board of Medicine and Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) or Certified Operating Room or Surgical Technician (CORST) certification
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a Surgical Technologist or related scrub tech position
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or a military training program or Licensed Practical Nursing Program
Working Conditions

This role requires prolonged standing, sitting, bending, and walking. You will also be exposed to potentially hazardous and infectious substances.
