Payroll Manager Job Description

The City of Worcester seeks a highly skilled Payroll Manager to lead the payroll team and ensure accurate and timely payment of wages to employees and retirees. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Supervise and manage the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with departmental stakeholders, including Human Resources and Auditing employees.
  • Analyze and resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business/Public Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll management, preferably in a municipal setting.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $79,123 - $91,395, exempt, full-time position, with an excellent benefits package. Preference is given to Worcester residents.
