Position Overview

KSA Engineers Inc is actively looking for a skilled Survey Instrument Technician to enhance our surveying operations. In this role, you will play a vital part in our survey team, supporting the Survey Party Chief in gathering essential field data for diverse engineering, construction, and energy sector projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and calibrate surveying instruments, including total stations and GPS devices.
  • Execute tasks such as inverse calculations, line staking, and coordinate translations.
  • Interpret plat maps and metes and bounds descriptions accurately.
  • Identify and mark property corners effectively.
  • Assist in assessing the locations and elevations of various features using level rods or prism poles.
  • Calibrate equipment and position stakes for different surveying tasks.
  • Clear survey paths of vegetation and debris as necessary.
  • Support the Party Chief with assigned duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the surveying field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Capability to perform under pressure in a dynamic setting.
  • Basic mathematical skills and proficiency in reading numerical data.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Physical stamina to stand, crawl, and kneel for extended durations.
  • Willingness to work in various outdoor conditions.
