Role: Assistant Coach, Bass Fishing
Under the leadership of the head coach, the Assistant Coach will play a vital role in supporting all facets of the collegiate bass fishing program. Key responsibilities include:
- Recruiting student-athletes who align with Simpson University's admission standards to build a competitive roster.
- Assisting in the organization of practice and competition schedules.
- Providing mentorship in academic, personal, spiritual, and professional areas to student-athletes.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations set forth by governing bodies.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A solid understanding of the sport and its various components.
- Proven success in recruiting student-athletes at a private institution.
- Familiarity with digital tools and platforms such as Google Apps and Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated commitment to a Christian lifestyle and values.
- Exemplary sportsmanship and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Interest in fostering the personal and athletic growth of college students.

Essential Duties:
- Effectively communicate the sport's rules to team members.
- Stay informed about new developments and techniques in bass fishing through continuous learning.
- Maintain accurate records of player information and statistics.
- Assist with the management of equipment and uniforms.
- Attend all team meetings, practices, and competitions regularly.
- Promote safety procedures during training and competitions.
- Support academic initiatives for student-athletes needing assistance.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive program schedule.
- Oversee team activities, practices, and competitions.
- Conduct pre and post-season meetings to set expectations.
- Ensure team members exemplify academic excellence and serve as role models.
- Follow transportation procedures for team activities.
- Ensure the safety of students and equipment during all events.
- Evaluate team performance and suggest improvements.
- Organize fundraising efforts to support the team.
- Keep financial records of expenses and fundraising activities.
- Recruit and maintain a full roster for all levels of competition.
- Manage social media accounts and collaborate with the Athletics Department for website updates.
- Engage with parents as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including prolonged periods of sitting while using a computer, lifting, and standing during practices and events.
Salary: $20 Hourly
