Job Summary

Simpson University seeks a highly motivated and experienced Head Coach for its Women's Basketball program. The successful candidate will lead the team to success, while embodying the university's values and mission.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the Women's Basketball program to achieve academic and athletic excellence.
  2. Recruit and retain high-quality student-athletes who align with the university's values and mission.
  3. Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching plan that includes player development, team strategy, and game-day management.
  4. Collaborate with the athletic department to ensure compliance with conference and NAIA rules and regulations.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with alumni, donors, and community partners to support the program's growth and success.
  6. Develop and manage the program's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
  7. Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and support staff to ensure a positive and productive team environment.
  8. Represent the university and the Women's Basketball program at conferences, tournaments, and other events.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  2. Minimum five years of successful collegiate coaching and recruiting experience.
  3. Must possess and maintain a valid CA Driver's License.
  4. Must possess current certification in First Aid and CPR.
  5. Demonstrated ability to serve as a strong Christian role model and mentor for student-athletes.
  6. Demonstrated ability to integrate faith in teaching, coaching, and team culture.
  7. Demonstrated ability to attract, recruit, and retain quality student-athletes who are an institutional fit and can succeed at Simpson University.
  8. Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal.
  9. Demonstrated ability to develop a competitive sports program with knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations.
  10. Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  11. Must be proficient in technology, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office software applications.
  12. Self-starter, highly motivated, and well-organized.
Working Conditions

The Head Coach will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent travel and communication with student-athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

The Head Coach will be required to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies, as well as stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. The successful candidate will be able to perform these physical tasks with ease and without accommodation.
