Evaluate and manage inpatients on the Neurological Surgery Service. As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will work full-time in the care of patients on the Neurological Surgery Service. Join a busy Neuroscience ICU Division with 5 Neuro-intensivists and 9 Advanced Practice Providers.
Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients through comprehensive history and physical examinations
- Evaluate and treat patients based on history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results
- Perform therapeutic procedures, including lumbar puncture, central venous line placement, and endotracheal intubation
- Initiate referrals to other healthcare providers and consult with attending physicians or collaborating physicians
- Document and bill for direct care provided
- Participate in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and current licensure as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and current licensure as an APRN
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide high-quality patient care
