Patient Care Assistant

Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing supportive duties in Infusion and assisting nursing staff in the treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist nurses with admissions and discharges of patients
- Function as technical support in all aspects of endoscopy and minor procedures
- Clean and disinfect endoscopes per hospital policy
- Collect and label specimens per hospital policy
- Respond to patient care needs and provide care and assistance
- Order and restock supplies and materials as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean environment utilizing appropriate infection control techniques
- Participate in data collection for PI and statistics
- Assist in the patient call back process
- Input orders and charges into the computer
- Follow all time and attendance policies
- Display analytical and basic problem-solving skills
- High School graduate or equivalency
- 2 years of PCT experience preferred
- CNA or certified medical assistant preferred
- Basic Life Support, BLS within 30 days of hire
This role requires significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. The position involves significant occupational risk and requires the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force. The work environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail.
