Patient Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Northern Dutchess Hospital. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily physical and emotional care to patients, including bathing, toileting, feeding, and ambulating.
- Answer call lights in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist licensed personnel as directed, ensuring seamless care delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of patient vital signs, including temperature, heart rate, and blood pressure.
- Contribute to a safe and clean environment by utilizing proper infection control techniques.
- Recognize and report any changes in patient condition to licensed personnel.
- Transport patients as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team meetings to discuss patient care plans.
- Act as a preceptor to new Nurse Assistants, providing guidance and support.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills, working collaboratively with the healthcare team.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
- Nursing home or acute care experience preferred.
This role requires manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. You will work in a fast-paced environment with significant occupational risk and exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
