Patient Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Danbury Health Systems. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist nursing staff with patient admissions and discharges
- Provide technical support for endoscopy and minor procedures
- Clean and disinfect endoscopes according to hospital policy
- Collect and label specimens according to hospital policy
- Respond to patient care needs and provide assistance
- Order and restock supplies and materials as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean environment using appropriate infection control techniques
- Participate in data collection for quality improvement and statistics
- Assist with patient call back process
- Input orders and charges into the computer
- Follow all time and attendance policies
- High School graduate or equivalency
- 2 years of PCT experience preferred
- CNA or certified medical assistant preferred
- Basic Life Support, BLS within 30 days of hire
This role requires significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. The position also involves significant occupational risk and very heavy effort, requiring the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
