We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at WSP. As a key member of our Properties & Buildings- Mechanical Team, you will be responsible for directing project teams and overseeing cross-functional teams of engineers, planners, and scientific professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Direct project teams and oversee cross-functional teams to execute project work on mid-level and/or multiple concurrent projects.
- Monitor budgets, track hours and expenses, task completion, cost and quantities of labor, technical calculations, permit applications, schematics, construction, and regulatory and technical analysis memos.
- Coordinate activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design issues.
- Manage mechanical design and construction of building and infrastructure projects, including rehabilitation and reconstruction, new builds, design specifications, and phasing.
- Apply high-level mechanical engineering techniques and processes to identify improvements for various building and infrastructure project phases.
- Schedule and orchestrate project team meetings.
- Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.
- Collaborate with professionals, other engineers, planners, and building authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects.
- Remain current in latest mechanical engineering techniques and practices.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and prior mechanical design experience.
- Engineer in Training Certification.
- Proficient with Revit.
- Proficient with mechanical engineering principles, practices, processes, and their application to various projects.
- Extensive knowledge of building and infrastructure design.
- Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant mechanical engineering and construction laws, codes, and regulations.
- Ability to plan and conduct field observations on various aspects of the construction and design of mechanical systems.
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members.
- Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety.
- Master's Degree in Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- LEED certification.
- Experience with international projects.
