Core Responsibilities

We are looking for a proactive professional to enhance the manufacturing processes of ceramic matrix composite (CMC) turbine components. CMCs are crucial materials that elevate the temperature capabilities of jet engine components, enabling us to produce engines that are more efficient, lighter, and more durable for both commercial and military applications.

  • Design and Development: Formulate and refine ladder logic programs for Siemens PLC control systems. Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to innovate processes and integrate new designs into production.
  • System Integration: Seamlessly connect instrumentation and control systems with existing machinery. Develop and execute automation strategies to enhance quality and reduce costs. Spearhead comprehensive data collection and analysis to support robust process development.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identify, diagnose, and rectify issues within instrumentation and control systems to minimize operational downtime. Conduct thorough root cause analyses and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Calibration and Testing: Ensure precision and reliability by calibrating instruments and control devices.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of control systems, including P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), loop sheets, and SEMA drawings.
  • Safety Compliance: Uphold all safety regulations and standards across systems.
  • Collaboration: Engage with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to optimize system performance.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to access restrictions on program-related information.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience and strong proficiency in ladder logic programming, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
  • Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Controls Engineering.
  • Experience in developing PLC ladder logic and sequencing with Siemens PLC systems.
  • Familiarity with chemical processing.
  • Capability to perform instrument calculations, such as valve sizing and voltage assessments.
  • High accuracy in diagnosing, calibrating, and modifying control systems.
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations.
