Job Summary

Haven Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a skilled Mental Health Intake Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our admissions team, you will be responsible for completing mental health screenings for inpatient psychiatric admission, receiving and responding to call inquiries, and obtaining required information to facilitate mental health admissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completes mental health screenings for inpatient psychiatric admission
  • Receives and responds to call inquiries for potential admissions and generalized questions
  • Obtains the required information to facilitate mental health admissions
  • Makes referrals for persons who are not appropriate for admission
  • Completes pre-authorization of services
  • Welcomes patient(s) and completes paperwork upon arrival to mental health facility

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • CPI/CPR per policy. Current licensure or certification, preferred, by discipline
  • Mental health screenings and mental health experience preferred
  • Experience with crisis management or intake preferred
