Job Title: Patient Navigator, Radiology

Job Summary:

The Patient Navigator serves as a key contact for patient services in the Radiology Department at University Hospital, Newark NJ. This role is a patient advocate and guides assigned patients through the healthcare system, ensuring timely appointments and efficient management of referrals.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with access issues and develop relationships with referring healthcare providers.
  • Manage referrals, including acquisition of necessary patient-care materials and medical records.
  • Work with key persons in the Radiology Department and other UH departments to facilitate patient care and increase health awareness.
  • Provide technical service as needed and monthly statistics and referring patterns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, plus two years of work experience in a healthcare environment dealing directly with patients.
  • Technical clinical experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, with flexible hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus.
