Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team at Harris County Public Health. As an LVN, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective nursing care to our patients, while also contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Job Summary:

The LVN will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients seeking refugee health screening services. This includes administering immunizations, conducting patient screenings, and assisting with medical procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer immunizations and conduct patient screenings
  • Assist with medical procedures and provide nursing care to patients
  • Collaborate with medical providers and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent
  • Current licensure as an LVN in the State of Texas
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a public health setting or low-income population serving clinic
  • Experience working with refugees or in global health
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
