About the Role

The Mechatronic Solutions Specialist will work closely with the Solutions Engineering team to create innovative material handling solutions for our customers. This creative role will support the local sales team from initial customer contact to final bidding presentation, providing expertise in the mechatronic capabilities of the TGW product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and create mechatronic material handling layouts through collaboration with the solutions team, from initial concept to final contract design, using the TGW product portfolio and 3rd party equipment.
  • Present and develop concepts during customer meetings and internal discussions to create optimized solutions that best fit customer requirements.
  • Use engineering knowledge to perform performance calculations for the system to ensure that the selected equipment meets the specified target rates.
  • Create mechanical costing quotations for both high-level concept indications and final contract value to be rolled up into a total system pricing.
  • Provide equipment functionality and capability reports to the sales force; participate actively with system architects and sales associates to support and develop sales proposals.
  • Act as a technical liaison to the sales team, suppliers, and customers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Prior applications engineering experience in materials handling environment preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel, MSWord, PowerPoint.
  • Preferred skills: AutoCAD (2D), Sketchup or other 3D Design Software.
  • Willingness to travel domestically (less than 10%) and internationally (one-time training, and one-time visit every other year after) up to 15% for training and customer support along with a mandatory week training course in Austria.
