Job Title: Registered Nurse ICU

The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit team. As a Registered Nurse ICU, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care to critically ill patients, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and contributing to a culture of excellence and safety.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse ICU will be responsible for:

  • Providing direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Conducting thorough assessments of patients, identifying potential complications, and developing strategies to prevent or mitigate them
  • Administering medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitoring patients' conditions, reporting changes to physicians and other healthcare professionals, and making adjustments to care plans as needed
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of policies and procedures, and engaging in ongoing education and professional development
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A current RN license in the state of Michigan
  • At least 1 year of experience in an ICU or critical care setting
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
