Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver high-quality instruction in Paralegal Studies courses, utilizing approved curriculum and ensuring current objectives and content.
  • Organize instruction using Canvas, creating syllabi, course outlines, lesson plans, competency tests, and instructional materials.
  • Support assessment initiatives and ensure student completion, placement, and retention rates meet accrediting agencies' standards.
  • Provide training in essential competencies, including attitudes, job knowledge, and skills.
  • Attend meetings, prepare reports, and abide by College policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited university.
  • Meet SACSCOC credentialing requirements.
  • A minimum of five years as a practicing attorney in good standing.
  • A minimum of five years working with paralegals.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and software such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, Smokeball, FastCase, or Pacer.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years teaching in a face-to-face or online environment.
