We are seeking an experienced Adjunct Instructor-General Apprenticeship Electrical Construction to join our team at the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. As an Adjunct Instructor-General Apprenticeship Electrical Construction, you will be responsible for teaching courses in electrical construction and participating in local business and industry activities. You will also participate in curriculum establishment, review, and evaluation, and utilize the approved curriculum to develop clearly stated course objectives and learning outcomes.

Responsibilities:

* Participate in local business and industry activities to ensure the curriculum is relevant and current
* Participate in curriculum establishment, review, and evaluation to ensure the curriculum meets accrediting agencies standards
* Teach courses in electrical construction in accordance with the College Catalog and Student Handbook, syllabi, and published schedule of classes
* Utilize the approved curriculum to develop clearly stated course objectives and learning outcomes
* Organize instruction in classrooms, shops, and laboratories to ensure students have sufficient practice with equipment to develop skill proficiency
* Utilize a committee to ensure that desirable, relevant, and current practices of the occupation are being taught
* Responsible for student completion, placement, and retention rates ensuring that they meet accrediting agencies standards
* Responsible for providing training in the competencies essential to success in the occupation including attitudes, job knowledge, and skills
* Maintain a healthful, safe, and secure classroom/lab environment
* Request adequate equipment and supplies to support the program
* Ensure all instructional equipment and supplies meet safety standards
* Ensure tests and other means of assessing the achievements of students are sufficiently accurate
* Provides advisement services to assigned advisees
* Evaluates follow-up data from completers and employers to obtain information concerning program effectiveness and relevance to improve the quality of the program where needed
* Attends all commencement ceremonies
* Attends meetings and prepares reports as necessary

Requirements:

* Technical diploma
* Three years of relevant industry experience
* Journeyman electrician's certification
* Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree
* Five years of related industry experience is preferred
* Online teaching experience preferred
