Shift Leader Job Description

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking a skilled Shift Leader to lead and manage our team members during shifts. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and promoting a positive and productive team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead team members on shifts, providing feedback and guidance to ensure excellent customer service and quality products.
  • Ensure all security procedures are followed and back-of-the-house procedural standards are met.
  • Count drawers and follow proper daily cash handling procedures.
  • Prepare quality finished products efficiently and comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Restock food line, chips, and cooler, and clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen, and utensils.
  • Operate cash register, handle, balance, and follow all cash handling procedures.

Requirements:

  • At least 18 years old.
  • A minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail environment preferred.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 8-9 hours or as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Illinois Applicants - all IL employees are required to become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.
