Job Overview

The Building People, LLC is seeking a Temporary Facilities Support Technician to assist a government agency. This role is designed to provide essential support during peak operational periods.

Key Responsibilities

The primary function of this position is to manage requests for reservations and logistical assistance related to various facilities, including auditoriums, meeting spaces, training rooms, and special events. The technician will be responsible for:

  • Conducting repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Facilitating moves and event setup/breakdown
  • Handling logistics and miscellaneous duties

This role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8-hour shift, performing physical tasks associated with short-duration repairs, including:

  • Replacing furniture hinges
  • Repairing loose furniture handles
  • Installing pictures and whiteboards
  • Setting up office and cubicle furniture
  • Assembling purchased furniture
  • Replacing cabinets
  • Adjusting keyboard trays and computers
  • Changing water filters and cleaning barbeque grills
  • Hanging pictures, whiteboards, and office signage
  • Climbing and working from a 6-foot ladder
  • Inspecting conference rooms and ensuring furniture is properly arranged
  • Assisting with the adjustment, movement, or delivery of tables and chairs for meetings
  • Organizing and maintaining storage areas
  • Setting up and decorating holiday items with guidance
  • Utilizing hand tools and power tools effectively
  • Adjusting event furniture as necessary
  • Conducting tours of the facility to monitor housekeeping activities
Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience as a laborer or in a comparable role
  • Familiarity with the use and maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Excellent physical condition and strength
  • A high school diploma is preferred but not mandatory
