Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team at United Community Credit Union. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members, addressing their inquiries, and resolving their concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and provide information about our products and services to members, highlighting their benefits and value.
• Perform teller functions, including transferring funds, stopping payments, and processing loan or credit card payments, to ensure members' needs are met efficiently and effectively.
• Research and resolve routine member questions, problems, and concerns, ensuring proper follow-up and member satisfaction.
• Answer incoming calls, determine members' needs, and provide direct assistance or connect them with the appropriate resource to address their concerns.
• Monitor and process loan payoff information, providing accurate and timely communication to dealerships and insurance companies.
• Assist other departments and branches with transactions as needed, providing support for the collections department and branch managers in fulfilling member requests and merchant verifications.
Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial institution.
• High school graduate or GED.
• Excellent phone and written communication skills, with knowledge of credit union products and services, credit/debit card procedures, and Regulation E requirements.
• Ability to work well with people, be dependable, and present a professional appearance with a pleasant personality at all times.
• Ability to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion, occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs, and operate routine office equipment, including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
• Ability to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management and travel locally as needed.
Working Conditions
• Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
• Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions.
• Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
• Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of member service and discretion when dealing with the public.
• Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.
• Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.
