Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Underwriting Assistant to join our Personal Lines department at Cincinnati Insurance Company, Inc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with Operations and agencies to ensure accurate and timely processing of new business quotes.
  • Review quotes for accuracy and completeness before submitting to agencies.
  • Collaborate with Operations and agencies to maintain high service standards and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Evaluate high net worth home inspection reports to confirm accurate application of credits and surcharges, and identify potential underwriting hazards.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and marketing representatives to analyze and evaluate risk exposure, and provide recommendations for new business submissions.
  • Support the review of high net worth renewal accounts by evaluating key measures, such as pricing, coverage terms, and claims activity.
  • Monitor territory's book profile, new business quote activity, and retention figures, and alert underwriting to any issues or opportunities requiring further review.
  • Assist underwriters with back-up support of emails and phone calls.
  • Research and gather information in regards to coverage questions, state issues, and workflows, and refer to underwriter/team leader when necessary.
  • Handle special projects and other assignments as directed.
Requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to apply common sense in carrying out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and systems.
  • Ability to think independently, quickly, and effectively.
  • Ability to be open and flexible to change.
  • Comfortable with high volume workloads and production standards.
  • Willingness to learn Diamond processing and issuing system.
  • Ability to navigate web-based applications.
  • Willingness to complete web-based research as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • College degree preferred, but not required.
  • AINS certification preferred, but completion within three years of start date is also acceptable.
