Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication of equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines to identify potential issues.
  • Carry and move equipment, tools, and supplies as needed.
  • Identify and operate shut-off valves for equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition parts as needed.
  • Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication protocols.
  • Display advanced knowledge of blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC systems.
  • Exhibit strong engineering operations skills and general mechanical ability.
  • Display proficiency in at least three of the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building management.
  • Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required for repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Perform complex repairs of physical property, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment, air conditioners, refrigeration, and pool heaters, ensuring compliance with company standards and local and national codes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment, including pumps, motors, plumbing fixtures, electrical equipment, and HVAC systems.
  • Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
  • Display advanced knowledge of engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Train and mentor other engineers as needed.
  • Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and vocational or technical background.
  • Extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration, parts inventory and requisition, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.
  • At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.
  • Meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.
